I don’t know about you. But I’m ready for Spring.
And just when I thought it was time—just when I caught glimpse of new blooms and buds—I woke up one morning last week to find snow on the ground! (And if you live in Nashville, there’s more this morning…) Really?!
I couldn’t help but think of how symbolic that is of life.
How often do we get our hopes set on one thing, and then just when we think everything is going according to plan, life hands us something completely different?
What I saw despite the snow, however, was that the next day, the sun was back and shining…blooms unharmed by the unexpected interference.
Seasons are specific. Their timing, their colors, the holidays they hold; they’re all part of a continuous cycle that constantly reminds us we’re never “stuck” in one situation or circumstance forever. There’s something about each turning into the next—at just the right time—that can inspire a sense of hope within us if we allow.
One of the keys to staying motivated is giving yourself something to look forward to…something to remind you that you’re never stuck where you are. As we look forward to the changing of seasons, let us be reminded that change is inevitable and good; we’re never “stuck,” for there’s always something to hope for…even if it’s simply a change in scenery.
